My real name is Josh, but I wrote a little bit about my nickname, Zed, in a recent post. That nickname was forged during undergrad at a private liberal arts college in Indiana where I grew up. I'm a Hoosier at heart, but I have lived all over (Chicago, LA, rural West Texas,...) and currently live in Mobile, Alabama.

I work in higher education and am passionate about student development. College is a crucial time for young adults to wrestle with their identities and figure out their place in the world. I love asking my students "if you could do anything for work and know you would always be financially comfortable, what would you do?"  

My answer? Read books (and articles, etc.) and connect disparate ideas through writing. While my real job does not pay me to do that, I'm testing the waters in my free time here. Thank you for coming along for the ride.
